Are you or your employees interested in learning more about the Current Good Manufacturing Practice (CGMP) requirements of the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) Preventive Controls for Animal Food (PCAF) rule?
The Food Safety Preventive Controls Alliance (FSPCA) has announced the release of their online CGMP for Animal Food Course. The course is fully online and addresses the CGMP component of the PCAF rule.
The course covers the requirements for each of the CGMP components:
- Personnel
- Plant and grounds
- Sanitation
- Water supply and plumbing
- Equipment
- Plant operations
- Holding and distribution
Requirements
Taking this course is
optional.
The FSPCA CGMP for Animal Food Course is
not required for FSMA compliance. This course can be used as
part of a facility’s qualified individual training program. In addition to this course, facility-specific training should be provided by management as it relates to individual job duties, animal food safety and personal cleanliness.
How it works
The course is completely online and has no face-to-face component. The estimated time of completion for the course is 2.5-3.5 hours. You don’t have to complete the course in one sitting. You have the option to “exit” the course and resume the training later from where you left off - it’s recommended to do this between modules.
Cost
The course is $99.00 per user. The fee is set by the FSPCA.Included in the course is a Certificate of Training issued after completion of the course. You’ll have six months from the time of enrollment to complete the course. If you don’t complete the course within six months, the course enrollment will expire and you’ll need to re-enroll and pay the enrollment fee again.
