Collapse ▲The Food Safety Preventive Controls Alliance (FSPCA) has released a new blended learning option for the Preventive Controls for Animal Food (PCAF) Course. The blended course allows participants to complete much of the material online prior to attending an eight-hour instructor-led course. The online modules were developed by the FSPCA to expand learning opportunities to those who may not be able to attend a two-and-a-half-day training.
How it works
Part I: Online Course
After enrolling in Part 1: Online Course, you’ll complete 11 modules at your own pace.
The modules take approximately 7.5-11 hours to complete. It’s helpful to purchase or download the participant manual if you don’t already have one.
You have six months to complete the online course material. After completing Part 1: Online Course, you’ll receive an enrollment ticket for Part 2: Instructor-Led Course.
Part 2: Instructor-Led Course
After completing Part 1, you’ll have six months to complete Part 2: Instructor-Led Course.
To register for Part 2: Instructor-Led Course, you’ll need to provide proof of completion (enrollment ticket) from Part 1: Online Course. You can send your ticket to the instructor during the registration process.
Part 2: Instructor-Led Course requires eight contact hours. During the course, instructors will lead participants through exercises for each chapter in the PCAF manual.
How to enroll
If you’re interested in enrolling in Part 1: Online Course blended course, visit the FSPCA site to learn more and to enroll.
If you’re not sure if a blended option is right for you, try the blended course free trial!
Cost
Part 1 is $198, which includes the cost of the certificate. The certificate is not issued until Part 2: Instructor-Led Course is completed.
Part 2: Instructor-Led Course cost is set by each lead instructor.
