One Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) regulation requirement is the development of a food safety plan for facilities required to conduct a hazard analysis and implement preventive controls.
The development and implementation of the plan is to be done under the supervision of a Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI). The 20-hour training course is taught by lead instructors and follows the Food Safety Preventive Controls Alliance (FSPCA) standardized curriculum recognized by the FDA. Individuals successfully completing the course receive an official certificate of completion from FSPCA.
The NC State University Feed Milling Extension Program is committed to helping ease the burden of compliance for industry. A Preventive Controls for Animal Food course will be held from October 23-25, 2018 at the Animal and Poultry Waste Management Center in Raleigh, NC.
If you’re interested in taking this course, please contact Marissa Herchler for more information.
